The organisation is a multinational energy company with operations spanning the entire oil value chain, from exploration and production to refining, logistics and retail. With operations in over 8 countries including the UK, Germany, Sweden and the US, they are on a journey to become a fully integrated energy business built on a strong people-first philosophy.
The project’s goal was to modernise their SAP SuccessFactors platform while maintaining stability across the existing landscape. A key priority was to decommission Onboarding 1.0 and introduce Onboarding 2.0 to deliver a smoother experience for new hires. The company aimed to strengthen its capabilities with the rollout of Learning and Time Tracking modules, ensuring employees had the right tools for development and workforce management.
The client also wanted to review and optimise the scope of Employee Central, enhance reporting, and reinforce system security with a more robust role-based permissions framework. To achieve these objectives, they needed a solution that would balance modernisation with continuity, ensuring improvements could be delivered seamlessly while maintaining day-to-day HR operations.

Role of Zalaris
