Øyvind Flatla – Our Norwegian Champion Shooter

Competitive shooter and Zalaris employee Øyvind Flatla has been selected to participate in the European Shooting Championship, being held 4th of March in Moscow.

Born and raised in Hadeland, Norway, Øyvind began shooting when he was just 8 years old. He joined the local shooting team after his grandma saw an ad in the local newspaper. His grandpa followed him on the range and from then on he was hooked. Øyvind entered the sport of competitive shooting when he was just 10 years old. He decided to go all in for shooting when he started at The Norwegian College of Elite Sport, combining sports and school both in college and during his studies at the BI Norwegian Business School. His main goal is the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, and Zalaris is proudly sponsoring him to achieve this goal.

At age 22, Øyvind Flatla has achieved great results within competitive shooting. He is a part of the Norwegian national team, where he has achieved 17th and 19th place in the European Championship. He has also won the Oslo Open in 2013 and become 2nd in the Norwegian Air Rifle Championship in 2013.

“I have a natural competitive drive, like to challenge myself to be the best I can be. I deeply appreciate the sponsorship from Zalaris and all support from my colleagues. Working in Zalaris provides me with the flexibility I need to be able to compete in the international top league of shooting” – comments Øyvind before he heads towards Munich to compete against other international Air Gun shooters in IWK Munich.

Øyvind surely has his colleagues back support, we are proud of his achievements and wish him good luck in Munich and at the European Championship. Go Team Zalaris!
