Bitzer SE, headquartered in Sindelfingen, is the global market leader in refrigeration technology with approximately 3,900 employees at 72 locations worldwide. In 2019, the company opted to fully digitise and migrate its HR processes to the cloud with the assistance of Zalaris. Starting with the German locations, the internationalisation took place – much like the introduction of the new tools itself – step by step.

Role of Zalaris

Bitzer chose Zalaris as its digitalisation partner to jointly follow on-prem’s path to the cloud. The implementation of cloud solutions occurred gradually, allowing the company to gradually leverage the new possibilities and simultaneously involve all employees in the process.

Outcomes achieved

The journey to the cloud began for Bitzer in 2020 with the introduction of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central for its German locations. By integrating it into the existing on-premise SAP HCM, Bitzer could already leverage the new capabilities of EC in the cloud, while payroll and time management continued on-premise during the transition period.

Additionally, during the pandemic, the Zalaris e-File with an interface to SAP SuccessFactors was introduced to digitally map end-to-end HR processes. Subsequently, the implementation of additional modules such as Learning, Performance & Goals, and Time Management followed. Furthermore, the gradual global introduction of these tools continues to collectively advance the global cloudification strategy.
