The objective for this implementation was to enable the airline to bring their payroll operations in-house through the migration of multiple European payroll systems to SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll. The German implementation, covering over 1,000 employees, represents a significant milestone in this transformation journey.
The primary challenge in this payroll transformation was managing multiple European payroll systems that needed consolidation. In Germany specifically, the implementation required direct integration with authorities for Tax and Social Insurance collection and notification, along with electronic reporting of relevant absences through the country-specific eAU process. Additionally, the project team addressed the implementation of January HR Support Packages (HRSPs) and resolved crucial content requirements for the first live payroll in 2025.
Zalaris delivered a comprehensive solution that included:
- Implementation of country-specific payroll solution integrated with Employee Central for data management.
- A customised version of the Payroll Control Centre (PCC) designed to ensure uniform payroll execution across all countries.
- Integration of Germany-specific payroll programs and processes.
- Compliance with legislative requirements for employers and employees in Germany.
- Adherence to the company's standard terms and conditions applicable across Europe.
- Direct integration with German authorities for tax and social insurance processes.
The implementation has delivered significant outcomes for the airline. The streamlined processes now provide real-time access to the latest employee data, enhanced data security, and improved efficiency in decision-making for the business. Crucially, the in-house team can now process all their payrolls using a single payroll system, representing a significant step forward in their payroll operations.
The joint project team demonstrated exceptional collaboration in addressing the HRSP implementation challenges, working together to identify and implement the most effective solution to ensure a successful go-live.
