From concept to reality
The Zalaris Professional Service Business Intelligence Team works closely with the SAP Analytics Cloud Platform to establish analyses, plans and forecasts for building an efficient People Analytics application area from compliance to predictive analytics.
Building harmonized personnel data is a prerequisite for any successful People Analytics project:
- The report “consumer” (department) sees only 20% of the main project work in the form of data evaluation and visualization.
- The 80% project effort required to build a consistent and resilient personnel database is not visible.
In the past, personnel “data cleansing” was usually carried out directly in spreadsheet formats, supplemented by different data preparation in the form of Marcos and VBA programming, which resembled a black box. In the course of GDPR’s evolution, the personal spreadsheets must be likewise documented and the black boxes dissolved. The obvious or typical replacement comes down to Business Intelligence Self-Service solutions. It is often overlooked or forgotten, however, that for the structure of a future-oriented BI total solution – the foundation, which forms the actual personnel data basis – represents the most important Business Intelligence components in the People Analytics context.
The current situation is evaluated and assessed based on actual data. Then, the planning takes place, and thus the control, or “better control loop,” is closed for the comparison between actual and planned target values. In addition, new functionalities are added every two weeks with SAP Analytics Cloud as the central front end for all future reports, analyses, simulations and forecasts associated with all SAP (and potentially non-SAP) components.
