However, SAP’s strategy acknowledges that intelligent enterprises use technology and people to innovate with purpose so they can run at their best.
As visualised in Figure 1; The intelligent enterprise as a strategy has been categorised by SAP as four business processes (Lead to Cash, Source to Pay, Recruit to Retire and Design to Operate).
But what does it mean for you to become an intelligent enterprise?
Back to basics, Intelligence has been defined in many ways, but the core concept lies in the ability of processing the knowledge that you have in a meaningful capacity (or turn insight into action). To therefore empower your enterprise with intelligence, you need to ensure that accurate and relevant data (knowledge) flows within your digital being with enough talent to understand, process and do something (on purpose) to achieve your vision, which is likely to encompass your ability to run your business as best as possible and maybe help the world run a little better, simply by improving people’s lives with your fantastic products and services.
As visualised in Figure 2; to have insight into your business, you need two kinds of real-time data, operational data (O data) and experience data (X data). Operational data tells you what is happening in your business, for example things like what your sales pipeline looks like, how much you are spending and what your employee headcount is. Experience data tells you how people feel about you, as a business (customer point of view) or as an employer (employee point of view) for example. Therefore, using your intelligence, you are going to use the insight that you have gained from your data and continuously adapt to keep getting better; be the leading brand, the most wanted employer and sit at the top levels of the financial charts.
Consequently, in conclusion, becoming an intelligent enterprise with SAP is no longer just a dream; they have the strategy, solutions, expertise and through their partners, you can plan and implement the right pathway for your company becoming an intelligent enterprise. Partners like Zalaris, whose vision is to simplify HR and payroll administration (powered by SAP’s intelligent enterprise solutions and Recruit to Retire end-to-end business processes).
Recruit to Retire Processes
If your business depends on people, then you can depend on SAP’s “Recruit to Retire” end-to-end business process to provide you with the solutions, technologies, and digital platforms to break down the silos and facilitate the management of all talent across boundaries for you to become an intelligent enterprise.
In other words, SAP highlights the “Recruit to Retire” process as the ability to understand, manage and optimise all aspects of the workforce (employees and external workers) in line with business objectives and with clear financial impact.
So, with your intelligent enterprise strategy, you can leverage SAP’s “Recruit to Retire” processes to create a workforce experience that increases engagement and performance, but you do not have to do it alone, you can depend on Zalaris (an SAP gold partner) all the way. Zalaris provides expertise, knowledge and support you in choosing, implementing, and even running the right tools and solutions for your business.
As visualised in Figure 3; SAP’s “Recruit to Retire” processes are split into three main subprocesses (Hire to Retire, Travel to Reimburse and External Workforce) that rely on technologies that are best in their field. (SAP S/4HANA, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Concur, SAP Fieldglass and SAP Analytics Cloud), and if you already have one or more of these products, then you know how powerful they are in their ability to help your business run best. The most important thing to remember is that all these products (and more within the SAP portfolio) run seamlessly together, which means your users get one great user interface with one workflow inbox that can actually be using one or more integrated SAP products.
Hire to Retire Subprocesses
As visualised in Figure 4; the “Hire to Retire” subprocess, focused on internal workers, can be considered in 9 different processes that cover their working lifecycle (Planning, Staffing, Onboarding, Working, Payment and End of Employment).
But we all know you cannot run before you learn to walk. Although Zalaris can help you with that marathon (figuratively and quite literally too, we are a sponsor of the Norseman Xtreme Triathlon), we would always recommend that before you go shopping for all SAP has to offer of products and solutions, focus on the basics. SAP’s portfolio allows you to expand your digital landscape at your own pace, so you could always start by utilising the solution you need the most and reap the benefits before you can breathe, think, and decide on your next step towards the intelligent enterprise.
With that in mind and the hire to retire processes at heart, consider the most painful process within your company that would benefit from a robust solution and work on a plan to achieve it; if you are stuck for ideas or if they are all equally painful, then consider your payroll processes (see step 7, “Payment”, in Figure 4). Payroll is one of the most forgotten and neglected process areas by businesses, simply because it is not the business core activity; but it is needed and vital to run your business. Basically, if you do not think payroll is important, try not paying your employees for a month and see how bad payroll processes can impact your business negatively. But if you are interested in watching your business survive and thrive with great payroll processes that fit your needs perfectly, then allow Zalaris, powered by SAP’s Intelligent Enterprise strategy, to show you the way.
SAP Payroll is quite an interesting solution to consider. Depending on your preference, budget or existing landscape, you can opt-in for a fully on-premise solution (S4HANA) or a fully cloud solution (SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll) or a solution somewhere in the middle that fits your needs perfectly.
Zalaris to the Payroll Rescue
As visualised in Figure 5; Zalaris, a leading provider of next generation HR & Payroll services and solutions really are your one stop shop for all your SAP HXM needs. Zalaris can investigate, implement, run and support a payroll solution that suits your needs perfectly. Figure 6 shows you the different levels of outsourcing if you are considering a payroll partnership with Zalaris, but what it does not show you is our consulting expertise and flexibility to provide a solution that is right for you (even if it does not fit in the boxes).
