During 2022 there has been ~700 updates across the two release which is slightly less than in 2021, with the biggest drops in the areas of Compensation, Career Development and Learning as well as notable drops in updates to Employee Central and Recruiting. This year’s biggest risers (in number of updates) are Platform and (unsurprisingly) new products such as Litmos and Opportunity Marketplace.
I’m excited to see the development of the whole skills and competency areas. This data is important as it strongly underpins a lot of processes within HR that can enable the business to make informed decisions on topics such as workforce planning, recruiting, learning and development, as well as recognise employees appropriately through performance and compensation processes. With the development of “skills ontology”, “growth portfolio” and “opportunity marketplace” we are seeing the foundations of how this data can be stored and managed so that it can be utilised across the wider HXM suite. I expect lots of further updates in these areas in 2023.
Finally, if you haven’t recently looked in this area, check out the advancements in People Analytics Stories. We’ve recently deployed them across our own organisation as well as for some of our customers, and the feedback has been great. Our sense is that once you have stabilised and embedded SuccessFactors into your organisation, that overlaying these analytics adds some real value. The good news is that it isn’t a large deployment (to enable standard stories) and it doesn’t come with additional subscription costs. Check out the Architecture Leading Practices for a People Analytics Strategy.
